"A New Look"

Hope you got to join us for our Ladies of Grace event last night! There was food, fun, and a FASHION SHOW!

Thanks so much to all our models for participating; thanks so much to Elle for being our style guru and helping coordinate everyone's outfits; and thanks to Julie for being an amazing MC (seriously, stand-up comedy is your calling my friend)!

Since we focused on what can we add to our current wardrobes and not break the bank, we thought it would be fun to share some of the places we shop in Chapel Hill and Durham. Feel free to comment with places YOU like to shop!

Name-brands at a better price - Marshalls, Ross Dress for Less, TJ Maxx, SteinMart. You have to search the racks for things but you really can get nice pieces for a reduced price.

Basic Elements - Target is our friend. :o)

SHOES - Payless, Target, RackRoom Shoes, and DWS. Again, some searching is usually required at DSW but you can great some great deals if you check the sale racks in the back.

Thrift Stores - our area thrift stores are really great! Lots of selection and the items are in good condition. Takes a little searching too but you can pull together a great outfit for very little money.

Coupons - most of our favorite stores have an email or snail-mail list you can sign-up for. No one likes unsolicited junk mail BUT if it's a store you like, knowing when the next sale is coming or that "$15 off a purchase of $15 or more" coupon is really helpful.

Make a Plan - set a goal of adding just one new piece to your wardrobe per month. Maybe it's a new pair of shoes, a new handbag, a new cardigan, a new necklace. Just one new thing a month can totally brighten an outfit and it can make you feel great to have something new.

Give Back - It's important to remember that not everyone has the opportunity to add to their wardrobe. Make it a habit to go thru your wardrobe at least once a season and donate things your hardly wear to your local women's shelter, church outreach program, or some other charitable organization that puts things into the hands of people in need. We have been graciously blessed so let's not forget to be a blessing to others!

  1. I had a great time at "A New Look"! Thanks to all who played a part! Aren't we all glad that we don't look like we did 20 years ago? I'm grateful that God is changing and updating our hearts, too. Let's keep up with the new things that God is doing!
